Trainer/Assessor

~50 hours of training required

  • National-wide support:

    • Provide training to become Assessor

    • Evaluate Deaf/HoH children using VCSL and other assessment tools

    • Generate language (ASL) report

  • Provide workshop to personnel

  • Provide training to become VCSL Evaluator

  • Provide workshop to families

Criteria: 

  • Received a score of  4 and above on ASLPI

  • Actively working with children 0-5 years old

  • application fee ($75)

  • M.A. in Education or related field

    • B.A. may be considered depending on work experience​

Expectation: 

  • maintain good standing with NASLECE

  • Actively working with children 0-5 years old

  • application fee ($75)

  • maintain professional development hours 

  • renewal fee ($25) every four years

Evaluator

~15 hours training required

Local-wide support:

  • Evaluate Deaf/HoH children using only VCSL

  • Generate language (ASL) report 

  • Support with development of appropriate language goals

  • Reecived a score of 4 or above on ASLPI

  • Actively working with children 0-5 years old

  • application fee ($75)

  • M.A. in Education or related field

    • B.A. may be considered depending on work experience 

Expectation

  • maintain good standing with NASLECE 

  • Actively working with children 0-5 years old

  • renewal fee ($25) annually

  • maintain professional hours annually
